55 THINGS PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING: #6
Let me ask you something. Would you invite a thief into your home for a cup of coffee? Would you consider inviting a murderer into your living room for a drink? What about that kind of creepy guy that gives you the willies every time you see him, would you invite him over to play cards? Would you consider inviting a rapist into your home?
Then why the heck are you allowing predators to access your children through the internet or various apps that you do not supervise? Predators may spend days, weeks, months, or years grooming your child without your knowledge. Grooming does not happen overnight. It is a gradual seduction that manipulates our children till they succumb to the predator’s advances and then it is too late. Observe the mindset of your children, watch for emotional changes and not just the good ones. Predators prey on their mind and emotions and the feeling of joy you observe may just be the result of the grooming process, rewarding your child as the seduction process whittles away at their self-esteem. Children are your precious cargo. Watching over them and training them what to look for is imperative.
