What the movie Sound of Freedom doesn't tell you!
As I have stated for many years, our kids and young adults are not safe. We as adults and as a society are not protecting them!
Editor’s Note
Dottie is the voice of experience and reason. I have worked with her for many years, and I know how touched she is by this situation. She aches for every child lost. Here is a further response to the Sound of Freedom movie!
So, after seeing Sound of Freedom and getting a G rated glimpse into human trafficking consider now that this person, Allison Mack, was let out of prison a year early. Mack’s lawyers said in a previous court filing: “She cannot undo what has been done, and she will have to live with the regret for the rest of her life.” So, her sentence response is regret?! REALLY!!!! Way to go United States of America!! Protecting Our children!!! Unacceptable!!!
As I have stated for many years, our kids and young adults are not safe. We as adults and as a society are not protecting them!
Add to this the case in San Antonio where two men who sex trafficked three minors faced no jail time due to guilty plea of no contest. The child victim I helped free was detained by our authorities longer than the perpetrators. That is human trafficking in the U.S. - that is how real it is- that is what the movie Sound of Freedom doesn't portray. If they did, no audience could take it!
This sends a direct message to traffickers that despite how heinous their crime they will get what amounts to a mild reprimand and scolding. This is obviously the wrong message to traffickers.
Twenty Years and Counting
People ask me how I have done this for 20 years? Doesn't it get to me?
YES, it does! The part that hurts the most, the part I cannot reconcile, the part that causes me emotional scarring is how many people know and how little our reaction as a society has changed in 20 years.
It is still just as difficult today to get authorities or the public to react as it was the first day. I have saved a lot of people, but I have not disrupted the traffickers. With all the court cases, awareness, news media, documentaries, books, research, and any other way I could think of to combat this -- nothing changes until the public stops accepting it!
All I can do is keep warning, watch your kids and young adults!! They are being targeted every day in every way!! Please post your comments, especially if you have seen the Sound of Freedom movie.
Here is a song from our friend Joel Hayes - to help you remember that Mack is free today and what that means.
The federal govt's interest in child sex trafficking has waned. They have been distracted by social media and sit behind their desks. Pimps turned International Drug Traffickers (despite our uproar over Fentanyl) only serve as snitches and get off with "house arrest" - It's over Dottie. We are alone again.
